"Here the father, Pasquale, is played by James Gandolfini, reprising Tony Soprano as a sad-eyed mope. What we see is basically the same character, stripped of Tony's menacing, violent rage and the trappings of money and mob power"

We'll see it no more. RIP James Gandolfini.

Ever since he delivered one of the most savage beatings administered to a woman in "True Romance" I've never been able to watch a Gandolfini performance without feeling a certain sense of trepidation for his co-stars sharing the same frame.

I'll miss him.
