Don't get me wrong: like practically everyone else on planet Earth, I hated writing book reports in gradeschool. However, I can't recall a time I ever disliked reading books, especially film books, from video camera manuals to David Cook's A History of Narrative Film. I've noticed the web is short on information about such publications. Few sites outside of Jeeem's Cinepad even acknowledge the existence of movie-related tomes.
So I've come full circle, back to writing book reports. (Note: guest critics will also contribute reviews to this section.) My goal is to introduce the uninitiated to another facet of film culture, and give reading ideas to the people like myself, who thrive on this kind of material. "Books About Movies" is affiliated with Chapters.ca, an on-line Canadian bookseller. Please give them a visit if you have some time.
